CardScan is a web-based tool that extracts contact information from business card images using AI. By creating an account you agree to these terms.
CardScan uses pay-as-you-go pricing. Scans are purchased in advance and deducted as you scan. The current price is €10 + VAT for 50 scans (€0,20 + VAT per scan). Scans do not expire. New accounts receive 5 free scans at registration. All payments are processed securely via Stripe.
You may only scan business cards for which you have lawful possession. You may not use CardScan to process data in violation of any applicable law, including data protection legislation.
Images you upload are processed in memory and are not stored on our servers. Extracted contact data is returned to your browser only. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
When you use CardScan to scan a business card, you are processing personal data (contact details) belonging to a third party. You are responsible for ensuring you have a lawful basis for that processing under applicable data protection law, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where it applies.
In particular, you must not use CardScan to process personal data without a legitimate purpose, and you must handle any extracted contact details in accordance with your own data protection obligations.
If you enable a self-configured webhook, you instruct us to transmit extracted contact data to a URL of your choosing. Services you route data to (e.g. Zapier, Make, CRM systems) are your sub-processors and you are responsible for their compliance, including any required contracts and international transfer safeguards. Where we instead operate a managed integration on your behalf, the routing service is our sub-processor and is listed in the Privacy Policy.
If you use CardScan on behalf of another organisation (e.g. a client or employer), you may need a Data Processing Agreement with them. You can download a generic template here: ⇩ Download DPA template (.rtf). The template is provided as-is and is not legal advice; review with qualified counsel before signing.
We act as a data processor on your behalf only to the extent necessary to deliver the service. We do not retain, analyse, or share the personal data contained in images you upload. Our full data handling practices are set out in our Privacy Policy.
We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We are not liable for any losses arising from downtime or service interruptions.
The service is provided "as is". We are not liable for any inaccuracies in extracted data, or for any direct, indirect, or consequential losses arising from your use of the service.
We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
